Modelling eruptive event sources in distributed volcanic fields

چکیده

Vent opening hazard models are routinely used as inputs for assessing distal volcanic hazards (lava flows, tephra fallout) in distributed fields. These vent have traditionally relied on the location of mapped vents; seldom they taken into account how vents linked space and time. We show that needed to appropriately model fundamentally different than thoses required near-vent (ground deformation). provide a computational obtain more appropriate eruptive source parameters (ESPs) sources utility our code through three examples. The code's strength is it links events based spatio-temporal relationships heirarchical clustering. development its strenghts weaknesses discussed. This work challenges previous ideas about ESPs we hope this leads further improvement assessment methods.

Biodiversity during the Deccan volcanic eruptive episode

This paper gives a detailed overview of biotic assemblages recovered from the Deccan trap intercalated sedimentary sequences (infraand intertrappean beds) of peninsular India as a result of extensive research done during the last 20 years. The infraand intertrappean beds contain remnants of Gondwanan forms such as myobatrachinae frogs, pelomedusid turtles, dinosaurs (i.e. titanosaurids and abel...

Partial Observation in Distributed Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems

Distributed supervisory control is a method to synthesize local controllers in discrete-eventsystems with a systematic observation of the plant. Some works were reported on extending this methodby which local controllers are constructed so that observation properties are preserved from monolithic todistributed supervisory control, in an up-down approach. In this paper, we find circumstances in ...

Conjugate Gamma Markov Random Fields for Modelling Nonstationary Sources

In modelling nonstationary sources, one possible strategy is to define a latent process of strictly positive variables to model variations in second order statistics of the underlying process. This can be achieved, for example, by passing a Gaussian process through a positive nonlinearity or defining a discrete state Markov chain where each state encodes a certain regime. However, models with s...

Plan-based complex event detection across distributed sources

Complex Event Detection (CED) is emerging as a key capability for many monitoring applications such as intrusion detection, sensorbased activity & phenomena tracking, and network monitoring. Existing CED solutions commonly assume centralized availability and processing of all relevant events, and thus incur significant overhead in distributed settings. In this paper, we present and evaluate com...
